Talkgorup 280 is the nationwide talkgroup of the island of Cyprus. The Talk group 280 is suggested to be used on TimeSlot 2 on the central repeater on the highest peak of the Island, that is the Troodos DMR Repeater and if there is extesive use of the TS2 on another talkgroup you may switch to TS1 . on the rest of the local area repeaters the Talkgroup 280 is suggested to be used on TS1 as all the internaltional Talkgroups which leaves the TimeSlot2 for local conversations on the local area asigned Talkgroup.

There is a scheduled net on TG 280 - Cyprus Net - every Monday 20:00 local time (17:00 UTC) The NET purpose is for a representative of each islands region to inform the members of each of the local club`s activities during the past week, discuss future club projects and announcements

After that part, radio amateurs are called to discuss their past week`s activity, DX contacts and findings, projects and matters of R.A. interest.
