DMR Repeaters have 2 timeslots (TS), which allow 2 simultaneous conversations. This is similar to having two separate analog repeaters.

As TG91 is routed to Time Slot 1 (TS1) on all repeaters worldwide, we may as well keep the convention of International and "Chat" TG's on TS1

Since TG2722 for calling is statically linked to TS2, there's a possibility that other communication will be interrupted by other calls. The rule of thumb is therefore to make your call on TS2, and then move to TS1 and continue the conversation on the agreed talkgroup.

Currently the chat group TG 2723 is good for traditional repeater conversations. It is only audible on repeaters where a user has PTT-activated it, it will 'go away' after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity. So no need to worry about forgetting to disconnect.

TG2724 is cross connected to the IE-YSF Wires-X Bridge

Each repeater/gateway should have the national talk group (TG2722) statically configured on TS2

A considerate way to use the system is to use the calling group for short messages or agreeing on a chat group (2723-2724), then move to TS1 and the agreed TG to complete the conversation.

Non-static groups are user activated by PTT. Normally use TS1 for user activated groups.

User activated groups are active for 10 minutes after last local keyup. These can be disconnected immediately by making a private call to 4000

If your repeater is in Ireland, we recommend you connect it to the Ireland master using the hostname bm1.ei3rcw.ampr.org.

Try not to use IP adress since it could change.
